itSMF Bangalore Chapter Event: 10/April

itSMF India Chapter delivered its local chapter event on 10/April in IIIT Bangalore campus at Electronics City. This was the first planned session for this year for Bangalore and we see many more to come in this year itself.

The event started with a Welcome note by the Chairman of itSMF India Chapter, Prof. D Das, who expressed his happiness to welcome the participants from the industry.

This was followed by an update on the itSMF India Chapter by Sunil Mehta, Board Member of the chapter and Managing Director – Quint Wellington Redwood. Sunil explained the structure of the chapter and how it is run and managed by the members. He also encouraged attending industry colleagues to actively participate in the chapter and contribute to bring the best practices to the industry at large and not just restrict the same to IT only.

There were 2 technical sessions executed during the event.

The first one was on the emerging best practices complimenting ITSM – VeriSM. The session was delivered by Manoj Sethu, Board Member of the chapter and GM – APMG.

Manoj focused on the evolution of ITSM and how complimentary best practices and models add value in the ITSM implementation.

The second session was on the importance of Change Management and BRM in the ITSM roadmap, delivered by Suresh GP, Board Member of the Chapter and Managing Director – TaUB Solutions. Suresh covered the 2 critical modules which are essential for the value realisation for the end customer.

Both the sessions were interactive with active participation from the audience.

The audience comprised of participants from multiple companies including but not limited to – TCS, KPMG, HP, Recconix, Reliscale, Consultants Factory, Quint, APMG, TaUB.

There was a poll conducted to understand the topics the participants would like to hear more in the coming events. Some of the hot topics mentioned were :

  • Digital Transformation for ITSM
  • Integrated approach for best practices in the ITSM space
  • Lean IT
  • SIAM
  • Success/horror stories on the SM adoption
  • Agile SM
  • Communication challenge in ITSM

The session ended with a quick Thank You note by Prof. D Das, which was followed up by tea/coffee & snacks.

The next session is planned on 22/June at IIIT Bangalore campus, 26/C, Electronics City, Phase 1, Bangalore. Opp Infosys Gate 10.
